| Alright, it's time for another Frag Friday, this week it's metriod on the NES. Before i get in to it however, i want to give you guys sort of a backdrop for when this game was released. It was 1986, the NES had been released only a year earlier in america and was already causing a revolution in the gaming indstury. By this time most of the games on the NES had about 3 things in common: 1. They made a play go from point a to point b in a liniar stage. 2. When they had power ups most were simple firepower or range upgrades and were usually lost once you died or had reached the end of the stage. 3. They all had men as player characters. Thus enter in metroid, a game that didn't follow any of these. For starters, the game didn't have stages, instead it was one big stage with some transition areas to different parts of the world you were exploring, what's more, the game didn't force liniarity by putting up invisible walls, instead you were only restricted by what abillities you had acquired at that moment. In addition, the power ups didn't just increase your gun's range or firepower, some of them would allow you to travel to new areas previously unavailible, take for example the first 5 mintues of the game, you walk to the right side of the screen till you reach a small path under a wall, you push down on the d-pad but find you can't crouch, so you walk all the way back to the left of the screen till you reach another wall with a small path under it but you can jump over this one, you jump over it only to find you can't jump back over on the side you're on so you go to the left and find a small orb, you touch and some music plays, you then find no other way out other then the small path so you walk over to it, press ever button on the NES controller and find that that small orb you touched allows you to curl up in a ball when you press the d-pad, you can then proced on, this sort of thing was introduced in the Legend of Zelda series but here it was refined a bit more so now you could unlock new movement abillities. Finally, the player charicter in metroid wasn't a man, but a woman named samus, now back then this wasn't widely known do to the fact that you had to beat the game in under an hour in order to unlock the secret ending, which showed samus in a bikini, here is what she looked like back then without here space suit, and what she looks like now. Back then, this game would have been very unusual and would have been ground breaking, and possibly was one of the stepping stones to the sandbox genre, with games like grand theft auto, in addition to being the first game with a female main character, a full 9 years before Lara Croft made her daybue on the playstation but with regards to the game itself, the game was about a bounty hunter (samus aren) going to kill the leader of an alien race (called metroids) named motherbrain I hoped you liked this edition of Frag friday, tune in next week! As always i welcome suggestions to improve this thing.

| I suggest you work on your English or at least install a spell check if you're using firefox, it's getting annoying.
Regarding the review you didn't even said of wtf the game is about, like the backstory or anything. All you said was a couple of stuff you can do on the game I know nothing about.
So your review scores a fail/10 on the slav-o-meter, thanks for playing. |

| Better, not great, but better. Keep working on it. Remember that we are gamers so we expect a nice review and not something a dumb IGN fuck would make.
Ok Kyang bring in the (slightly) erotic pics of Samus. |

| The last line is wrong. First of all the name is Samus Aran and not Aren. Second of all Mother Brain is not the boss of the metroids. She's the boss of the space pirates who weaponized the metroids. |

| Sub par review.
also, if you're going to do a game atleast get your faqs straight.
it is spelled Samus Aran.
and Mother Brain is an AI super computer who runs and controls the base of operations of the space pirates, and is some times regarded as the leader. Although it is argued Ridley, the general of the space pirates, is in comand.
and the metroids are simply a dangerous race that was cloned, harnessed for energy and (as someone else put it) weaponized by the space pirates. _________________ |
